Applications are invited for a Canteen Assistant to join our busy Middle/Senior Years canteen.
This role would suit someone with a welcoming personality, who has strong teamwork and customer service skills. This is a part time, term time position working Monday to Friday 10.00am-2.30pm (40 hours per fortnight).
Key duties will include: - Preparation of food such as sandwiches, salads and other canteen items
- Cook and control portions as directed
- Filling and replenishing drinks, ice creams and shelf stock
- Assist in seasonal inventories as required
- Provide prompt, polite and efficient service to both internal and external customers
- Operate cash register, accept payments and process change
- Clean and sanitise service areas, equipment and utensils
The successful candidate will possess skills in the following areas: - Previous food preparation and safe food handling experience
- Completion of relevant food handling course
- Fast, efficient and hygiene conscious worker
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet required recess and lunch deadlines
- Previous school-based experience highly regarded
- Genuine commitment to growing personal Christian faith and to the Lutheran ethos of the College
- Possess a Blue Card and First Aid qualification or the ability to acquire
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
